Suspicious Behavior or Circumstances 

Be aware of  

• People in buildings or areas who do not appear to be conducting legitimate business
• People monitoring areas, buildings or entrances
• Abandoned parcels or other items in unusual locations or high traffic areas
• Report any suspicious persons or activities to Public Safety immediately

• Do not give out your social security number (tax purposes, credit, employment) Know how it will be shared
• Use a cross-cut SHREDDER for all personal documents
• Know your billing cycles and check regularly
• Password protect your financial accounts
• Use Firewall software to protect your computer
• Beware of phishing for personal information on the phone and the computer
• Run a credit check annually

Building/Office Security   

• Don’t prop open building or residence hall entrance doors or windows. Correct these situations when you observe them.
• Account for and secure keys and access cards -- don’t leave them unattended or give to unauthorized persons.
• Report lost keys and BabsonOne Cards as soon as possible.
• Secure all areas when not attended.
• Be aware of unfamiliar persons in or visitors.
• Be Prepared: Take time out to familiarize yourself with building evacuation plans/routes.
• Report suspicious tampering with physical security (doors, locks etc.) Talk with co-workers; know what is out-of-place (unclaimed items etc.)

General Information About Terrorism 

•  Create fear among the public
• Try to convince citizens that their government is powerless to prevent terrorism
• Get immediate publicity for their causes 

• Be aware of your surroundings
• Move or leave if you feel uncomfortable or if something does not seem right

• Learn where emergency exits are located in buildings you frequent. Plan how tget out in the event of an emergency
• Be prepared tdwithout services you normally depend on—electricity, telephone, natural gas, gasoline pumps, cash registers, ATMs, and Internet transactions
• Be Prepared: Everyone should establish an emergency preparedness kit and emergency plan for themselves and their family and stay informed about what tdduring an emergency
• Work with building owners tensure the following items are located on each floor of the building:
• Portable, battery-operated radiand extra batteries
• Several flashlights and extra batteries
• First aid kit and manual
• Hard hats and dust masks
• Fluorescent tape trope off dangerous areas
