Welcome Home

Welcome back! Now that you’ve returned from your short-term program experience, you may be asking yourself, “What’s next?”

To keep your experience alive, continue your global mindset development and perhaps fulfill those travel-bug needs, we have compiled a list of resources to help you reflect, articulate, and integrate your newly acquired global skillset.

Opportunities at Babson and Beyond

There are many opportunities to continue developing your global mindset here at Babson and around the world. Here are a few to consider:

Academic and Career

• Review concentrations: Check to see if your short-term program can apply to your concentration or consider exploring a new concentration.
• Consider an additional education abroad experience: Many students who do a short-term program go on to participate in additional academic experiences abroad. Consider doing another short-term program (Elective Abroad or International Consulting Experience) or a long-term program (summer, semester, or yearlong). Don’t forget to attend Babson Abroad 101 if you are considering a long-term program abroad.
• Apply to become a Glavin Global Fellow (GGF): The Glavin Global Fellows program welcomes students interested in expanding their global education in a focused course of independent study. The GGF Program allows students to integrate their Babson business and liberal arts education with international studies and proficiency in another language. Students receive a special GGF designation at graduation.
• Visit the Center for Career Development (CCD): Visit the CCD and meet with a Career Counselor to learn more about international career opportunities and how to incorporate your education abroad experience into your job-search materials and interviews.
• Research opportunities to work, intern, volunteer, or research abroad: Research various opportunities through resources such as NAFSA’s list of scholarships and awards for students seeking experiential learning programs abroad. You can also find opportunities for jobs and internships abroad on Interstride. 
• Consider Graduate School: Consider studying abroad at an international graduate school or pursuing a graduate program that offers education abroad opportunities.

Extracurricular

• Participate in International Education Week (IEW): Each year, Babson hosts a series of events, speakers, and activities during a week in November, known as International Education Week. IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This annual initiative promotes international understanding and builds support for international education and exchange.
• Apply for a Service Immersion Trip: The Office of Faith & Service sponsors service immersion trips during the college’s winter and spring breaks. These noncredit trips are opportunities for students to engage in an intensive service experience with communities in need. Through reflective activities students also are empowered to promote civic engagement, and develop their leadership abilities and an appreciation of diversity. These experiential learning opportunities are designed to help students develop a sense of personal identity and community, as well as an understanding of important societal issues.
• Education Abroad Peer Advisor (EAPA): Offer peer advice and answer questions for prospective education abroad students through Babson’s EAPA program. Email Kaela Conroy for more information.
• Campus Events: Check out one of the many events hosted by the Glavin Office of International Education.
